ABOUT RON CHILDS

Ron Childs entered the title insurance business in 1967 after attending the University of Denver and serving in the US Marine Corps. He has held the position of Senior Vice-President for Land Title and served on its board of directors as a minority stockholder. After 26 years with Land Title, he served as Chief Operating Officer for North American Title, a company he developed statewide from its start-up phase. He most recently served as Vice-President - Training & Special Management Projects for Security Title for 13 years before retiring in 2008.

He served as President of the Land Title Association of Colorado (LTAC) for two years – 1993 and 1994 – and was on its board for seven years. He also served as President and Chairman of SKLD (a joint title plant) for six years. He developed the study guide for the title industry’s licensing examination. At the 2008 LTAC convention, Ron was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his distinguished service.

Currently, Ron teaches continuing education classes to real estate brokers, attorneys and lenders in Colorado. He also authors a monthly newsletter focusing on current subjects related to the title industry and the real estate community.

Ron has been a member of the Downtown Denver Rotary and a charter member of Morning Rotary Club meeting at the Denver Athletic Club. He was President of the Colorado Rapids Swim Team when his children were active in the program.
